"raising awareness & helping in any way we can..."

gne gives back to the community

Since April 2007 we have been involved in various activities and fund raising schemes to help both local and national causes.

On the last Friday of every month we have a 'Dress Down Day', everyone contributes a minimum of £1 to the chosen charity.

Previously we have supported a wide variety of charities for 3 months and then chosen another cause. However, starting from October we made a company wide decision to support just one charity to be able to provide more of an impact.

We are now sending our Friday collections to Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA).

This extremely worthy cause is an independent charity, with no funding from the government. It takes £7,200 a day to keep the 2 air ambulances in the air and maintained. The only government help they receive is the seconded paramedics from Yorkshire Ambulance Team.

The charity serves approx 2 million people across nearly 4 million acres of land, 365 days a year. On collection by helicopter the people rescued are only 10 minutes away from the nearest hospital which means saving time and therefore lives.

The first three months collection was £94.59. We receive letters thanking us for our support every month...

To date (inc end of June) we have raised a total of £389.22
